I got an even better offer!!!!!

I finally found a career job. One that I know I can grow with.

Friday morning while I was sitting at home with "The Child" I received a phone call stating that I needed to go to this office to fill out an I-9 form. I had no idea what that was so I asked the lady that called me and she told me it was kind of hard to explain but it was sort of like a verification form. Well after I got off the phone with her I did some research. I just thought it was weird that a company that I interviewed with almost a month ago calls out of the blue to tell me I had to fill out more paperwork. So I went on the internet and Googled I-9 forms to find out exactly what it is. To my surprise it was a form that I had filled out a few times before. But, I only filled this out after I was offered a position. Needless to say I got real excited and started calling everybody in my family to ask them their opinion. I wanted to know if they thought that this was a sign that this was my job, that I was finally about to get offered a serious position. My mother told me to calm down and not to "jump the gun" because I wasn't offered anything yet. Well, I went over to her office and asked for the lady I was told to ask for and told the receptionist that I was there to fill out an I-9 form. She said she had no idea what form that was and she would get the other lady because she would definitely be able to help me. So, she called the lady and told her who I was and what I was there for. I am assuming she explained further to her what exactly I was doing there because the lady then looked at me and gave me this big smile. When she got off the phone she let me know that the other lady would be with me shortly and she said she couldn't wait for me to come help out. That is when I got really excited. Now I still haven't been offered the position at that time; but, I said maybe the lady that called just had a brain fart and forgot to let me know that I was being offered a position with the company. So, anyway the lady comes up and brings out the paper already filled out. She tells me where I have to sign and then she asks me what is my hire date. Now if I did not have any home training I would have screamed and jumped up and down and said, "OH MY GOD, I GOT A REAL JOB!!!!!" Well I resisted the urge and said that I did not know that I was hired I was just told to fill this form out. The lady then said, "Oh no you are hired. You were supposed to be given I hire date. Let me call for you to find out when they want you to start." So she makes the calls and leaves a message and lets me know that as soon as she finds out when I start she will call me to let me know.

So people, I have a job. A Monday - Friday 9-5 job. I start on the 15th and I am the most excited person you would ever want to meet at the moment.

Oh yeah, the other job that I was offered I had to write a nice letter and go talk to the lady that hired me to let her know that although I really appreciate the offer I have to decline.

Well, I gotta go! As soon as I have more interesting things to write about I will be back.
