What A Weekend!

The family and I had soo much fun this weekend! We got up early Saturday morning and got ready for the Renaissance Festival and went and spent the day there. We didn't get to see as many of the shows that I would have liked to see but we are going to go back in two weeks and watch more of the shows.

While we were there this weekend we bought wooden swords for the kids, KK got to do archery and rock climbing and she also got a Henna Tattoo of a dragon fly. The kids rode a few of the rides and we had a lot of good food. We did more sightseeing this trip up but we will relax and watch shows next time. My sis-in-law said that she wants to come with us next time we go so that's gonna be lots of fun. We took one of the maps with the schedule of shows home so I think I am going to look through it and highlight everything that sounds interesting and try to see all of them!

We got home pretty late on Saturday and we were exhausted. We all went straight to sleep -- no baths or showers! We got up on Sunday and decided it was time to do some cleaning. While my husband and I were in the kitchen we got a phone call and our daughter answered it. Unfortunately she thought it was a wrong number because she couldn't understand what the person was saying. Fortunately they called back and we found out that they were calling about the car. After we spoke to the people about the car our daughter explained that when she answered the phone the person on the other end was speaking spanish and she told them that they had the wrong number. She told us that the man started saying, "No! No wrong number!" and she told him, "Yes wrong number!" and hung up on him. We actually got two phone calls about the car on Sunday and one person came by to see it! I am going to put the add back in the paper next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and see if we get anymore calls.

Well that was my weekend. Hope you had as much fun as I did!

New Pictures

If anybody is interested I updated my Flikr photostream. Check it out on the side.

Taking Out the Trash!

Today my husband took off of work to "work on" the car and after two hours under the hood and one hour on the internet I placed an add in the paper that read:
1998 Ford Escort
$500 OBO
Won't start, engine needs work
Restored Salvage title
As you can see I decided when he came home yesterday that I was getting rid of the car ASAP. He really did try to do something with the car but I was totally against it turning into a big red dust collector. So now we are playing the wait and see game while we test the waters with a two day add. Let's see if I can get this thing off my hands.

What A Day!

So my husband just surprised me with a broken car that had to be towed home. Now I have a car on the side of the house that we will probably never fix in the beginning stages of dust collection. I told my husband that we got good use out of the car and it was time to let it go. So now his job is to find a salvage yard that will take the car off our hands. I think he is falling into a little "funk" because he has been moping around ever since he got home with the tow truck driver. Hopefully he feels better tomorrow after he realizes that we only paid $800 for that car and we had it for about six years.

Oh yeah! I didn't exercise today or yesterday.

Goodnight!

Where Did the Time Go?

Five O'clock has rolled around and the only task that I have successfully completed were breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I haven't done any exercising -- unless you count lifting the remote -- and never even pulled out the Biggest Loser Workout. But, that's OK my husband is coming home and he'll workout with me. I did manage to vacuum today and I went through a few shows on the DVR. I really need to do better and start managing my time. Well tomorrow is another day which means another chance so I'll be crossing my fingers for that. Now it's time to get dinner ready!

So Many Distractions

Yesterday I put off exercising until my husband came home and said that it was time for me to do some cardio. Now I thought that the clothes I washed and fold, the closet that I cleaned, and the floor that I vacuumed were considered a small part of my cardio routine but I guess I was sadly mistaken. Today I am supposed to do The Biggest Loser Power Sculpt Workout before my husband gets home -- which I was supposed to do yesterday -- and I am trying to figure out where I should fit it in. Should I do it before the bag of chips or after the the rice crispie treat? The things that I have to schedule. What fun! And to top this all off today is Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras day in my hometown and I am stuck in Arizona. No good seafood, no king cake, and no beads and brass band. I do have burritos, hamburgers, and some CD's. I guess I'll have to have my own little celebration. Now I have to get back to my many distractions!

It's Been Almost Four Years!

I can't believe that I stayed away for so long. I knew I was usually just writing for my own enjoyment but so much has changed since Thanksgiving 2007. I am now a mother of three, I have cut off most of my hair, and I have gained some weight.

Every year I say that I am going to "Get back in shape!", but, this year I have actually been exercising. I haven't quite gotten the "eating healthy" part down yet but maybe I'll get around to it. My husband and I have made a "Biggest Loser Couples" type of bet with my sister and her husband and we plan on winning. I think that it is a little sad that it took puttting money on the table to take weight loss seriously. Honestly even with the money I haven't been serious enough. Without my husband I would still be the food whore that I am sitting back popping aything labled extra sugar extra fat!

I was on a roll for a while and I was faithfully exercising and trying to eat more leafy greens; but, Valentine's rolled around and I became the Candy Snatcher. I was actually trying to hide candy from the kids. I even went through my daughter's bag from school and took out anything that even resembled chocolate. I actually ganed four of the six pounds that I loss and went on an exercise sabatical. So on Friday my husband dragged me out of the house and we bought another workout video. I just knew that it would become our newest coaster but we actually got up Saturday morning before the kids and did the workout. I felt so good that I decided that we should go to the park and play softball or fly kites too. Saturday was an all around great day for us. I felt so good about Saturday that on Sunday I got up turned on the music and started cleaning the house while my husband followed suit. He actually did Zumba with me that night and it was pretty fun!

Which brings me to today. I realize that I am like a child that needs constant monitoring when it comes to this exercise thing. If nobody is around to make sure that I am doing it or to tell me that exercising is actually a good thing I tend to keep putting it off. I need to try to make this thing a routine or I will never really get into it.

So my project for the next few weeks is to try and make this a habit and after that maybe I'll try to tackle this eating healthy concept. Anyway, I'm off to try and do this dumbell workout that my husband left out for me to do. Wish me luck!
