I Just Disappeared!

Well people, all one of you, I just forgot about, neglected, plain ole' stopped writing on my blog. So much has happened since the last time that I came here. I have been working at my new job for over a month. My sister-in-law has moved in and out of the house. My hometown has been washed away by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. My parents have moved to Dallas. My In-Laws are in Ann Arbor (I don't know if they are moving there are not). During the whole hurricane Katrina fiasco I was too depressed to actually write. I was going to work and coming home like a zombie. All I did was watch the news. Anyway I just felt the need to share since it has been soooo long. I will be back...

Eventually!

Talk to you later!

Hip Hip HOOOOOORAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is the first day of school and everything went smoothly. That is until I wanted a goodbye kiss from my baby girl and she ignored me. I said, "Bye baby, be good O.K." She just kept walking and put her things in her cubby hole and started talking to her teacher. I'm glad I was ready for this day and couldn't wait for her to go because my feelings really would have been hurt! Well, I just turned around told her teacher bye and walked to my car with a new since of freedom. Soooooo... Today, I don't have to hear her ask me when school starts, I don't have to hear her ask why she didn't go to summer camp, and I don't have to hear her tell me how bored she is.

HooooooRaaaaaay for the beginning of the school year.

P stands for Penguins and Problems!!

It looks like the penguins have caused problems in my mother's life. I spoke to her today while she was at work and she brought that movie up again. Mom said that after the movie was over and she and my dad walked out he looked at her and said, "I paid $15 for that?!" Then he said, "And I already saw that on Discovery." My mom was P.O'd by that comment. She wanted to know how on earth could my dad possibly think that he already saw that movie when it just came out. Anyway, after she told me about her penguin experience she said, "That movie has really caused some problems in my life!" Apparently she is the only person in the family (Dad, Mom, Me, and Sister) that wanted to see it. She says everybody laughed at her like her interests are just a big joke. Well, it looks like she is getting over the hurt slowly but surely. Hopefully she won't need any therapy from the "Problems" the penguins have caused.

DAMN THOSE PENGUINS!!!!!!!

I Think I Made A "Boo Boo"

OK people I think I messed up!!

My mom just called to apologize for what she said yesterday. Honestly I wasn't upset about it anymore because I know she wasn't trying to be ugly. Well, when she apologized I told her don't worry about it and that I already got it off my chest. Big Mistake!!!! Why did I say that? She asked me what I meant and I told her that I wrote about it in my blog. So now she thinks that everyone that reads my blog is going to think that she is "Mommy Dearest" re-incarnate.

"No Wire Hangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Well people let me tell you something, although I have a very opinionated mother she is a genuinely good person. She is great!! I love her to death. We have our days but that's just normal. I don't think there is a mother daughter duo out there that haven't had some tension filled moments. Anyway, I just want the world to know that I have a good mother. Even on her opinionated days she's the best!

LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One More Thing...

I went golfing yesterday!!! I had soo much fun. We probably looked like a weird bunch walking onto a golf course (Two ladies - one six months pregnant - two children, and two men) but, I really did not care.

So let me tell you how everything went. First of all when we went to check in and pay we found out that there were no more golf carts. So now we have to walk the course with the two kids and a pregnant lady. After that when it is our turn to tee off they tell us that since we are walking the course we need to let the next set of people go ahead of us. As we are walking away to wait a little longer that man that is at the first hole asks us how many people are golfing and we tell them four. So he says we need to have four sets of clubs. What? Why do we need four sets. Apparently that is golf etiquette or something like that. So now we have to get two more sets of clubs. So we now have two kids, two ladies (one pregnant), two men, four sets of clubs and no golf cart. Yes, it was going to be a long day! We finally get to start about 45 minutes after we were supposed to but we get off to a pretty decent start. When we get to the third hole this old guy on a golf cart rolls up and screams, "You guys need to speed it up! You're going too slow!" My husband then says, "What do you want us to do? We don't have any carts we're walking this course and we had to wait for the people in front of us!" So the man says, "Look, either you skip a hole, let the next set of people go, or speed up!" So My husbands friend asks him how many people are there behind us is there a break somewhere if we let the next people go. He tells us no there isn't a break anywhere the tee times are continuous. This obviously upsets my husband because he starts saying, "So what? Are we supposed to just let all these people go and sit around until you close for our turn!" The man says that we should skip a whole then. So my husband says. "NO!!!!! We paid for nine holes we are playing 9 holes!!!!" So the man just says "Well then you need to speed it up then. I can tell that my husband was extremely upset so I ask him if he wants to tee off first this time. He says yeah. So he sets up his ball goes to tee off and "Whack" the ball and the head of his club goes flying. I don't know how hard he hit that ball but I have never ever seen anything like that before. The head of the club was flying through the air like a bird. At first I though it was a bird. I said, "What is that? Did you hit a bird?" Then I see him look at his club and throw it my way. All that was left was the shaft. The head of the club was gone. So you know what was next right? GAME OVER!!! We all just stopped the mood was gone.

When we got back to the club house my husband and his friend went inside to talk to someone about our "Golfing Experience". They game back with four free rounds and two free golf carts. I guess that wasn't too bad. Hopefully next time we will get past the third hole.

Talk to you later!!!!

Apparently I am not Educated enough to Watch March of the Penguins

Today my mother called and told me that she was going to go see March of the Penguins. I guess when I made a slight chuckle she got insulted. She said that something was wrong with me and that if a movie doesn't involve sex and violence I am not interested. Now anybody that knows me knows this isn't true. I watch a wide variety of movies, but I honestly wasn't interested in this. So that is exactly what I told her that I just wasn't interested. I then said that there are many documentaries that I have watched and liked, I just did not want to watch that. Apparently I wasn't the only person in the family that wasn't interested because my dad said, "What do I want to go see penguins for?" So after she told me that, she says she isn't interested in watching movies about "pimps and hoes". She then tells me that one of her co-workers went to go see this movie with her two daughters and they loved it. Now this is the part where my education comes into play. She says how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed going to see the movie. Then she says, "But they do have DEGREES!" What??????? What is that supposed to mean. Only people with degrees can appreciate documentaries. My feelings were quite hurt. I know she probably didn't mean it that way but still that was an ugly thing to say.

If my mom reads this she will get upset all over again. But, I doubt if she even comes to my site anymore since she says she doesn't want to be associated with weirdos. She found out that Joseph Edward Duncan III had a blog on The Blog Spot. She said she didn't want to do anything that a weirdo like that does. I told her that she may want to stop reading, bathing, and maybe even eating too then. After I said that she called me a sarcastic ass but that was just how I felt at the time. Just because I actually enjoy blogging does not mean that I am weird! If that were the case there would be a lot of weirdos in the world given its growing popularity!

Anyway, let me go cook something for my family. I just felt the need to share.

If you can't Beat'em ...

...Join'em!

Well people, I am going golfing. "The Husband" seems to enjoy it so much that I guess it's time for me to tag along. So, I am going to get up early Saturday morning and go with him. And guess what? It looks like I won't be the only wife there. The guy that my husband is going with this weekend is bringing his wife too. I guess we both complained about it so much that they both said let's just take them. I am actually looking forward to this. I really don't know how to golf, but, so what! I am going anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you later.

I got an even better offer!!!!!

I finally found a career job. One that I know I can grow with.

Friday morning while I was sitting at home with "The Child" I received a phone call stating that I needed to go to this office to fill out an I-9 form. I had no idea what that was so I asked the lady that called me and she told me it was kind of hard to explain but it was sort of like a verification form. Well after I got off the phone with her I did some research. I just thought it was weird that a company that I interviewed with almost a month ago calls out of the blue to tell me I had to fill out more paperwork. So I went on the internet and Googled I-9 forms to find out exactly what it is. To my surprise it was a form that I had filled out a few times before. But, I only filled this out after I was offered a position. Needless to say I got real excited and started calling everybody in my family to ask them their opinion. I wanted to know if they thought that this was a sign that this was my job, that I was finally about to get offered a serious position. My mother told me to calm down and not to "jump the gun" because I wasn't offered anything yet. Well, I went over to her office and asked for the lady I was told to ask for and told the receptionist that I was there to fill out an I-9 form. She said she had no idea what form that was and she would get the other lady because she would definitely be able to help me. So, she called the lady and told her who I was and what I was there for. I am assuming she explained further to her what exactly I was doing there because the lady then looked at me and gave me this big smile. When she got off the phone she let me know that the other lady would be with me shortly and she said she couldn't wait for me to come help out. That is when I got really excited. Now I still haven't been offered the position at that time; but, I said maybe the lady that called just had a brain fart and forgot to let me know that I was being offered a position with the company. So, anyway the lady comes up and brings out the paper already filled out. She tells me where I have to sign and then she asks me what is my hire date. Now if I did not have any home training I would have screamed and jumped up and down and said, "OH MY GOD, I GOT A REAL JOB!!!!!" Well I resisted the urge and said that I did not know that I was hired I was just told to fill this form out. The lady then said, "Oh no you are hired. You were supposed to be given I hire date. Let me call for you to find out when they want you to start." So she makes the calls and leaves a message and lets me know that as soon as she finds out when I start she will call me to let me know.

So people, I have a job. A Monday - Friday 9-5 job. I start on the 15th and I am the most excited person you would ever want to meet at the moment.

Oh yeah, the other job that I was offered I had to write a nice letter and go talk to the lady that hired me to let her know that although I really appreciate the offer I have to decline.

Well, I gotta go! As soon as I have more interesting things to write about I will be back.

Where Have I Been?

Well...

I have been lazy. Plain and simple that is all that I can say about that. I haven't written in my blog in such a long time that I almost forgot about it. So, let's see. I think we need to do a little catching up.

First things first. I got a job. I work all of 1 minute away from home at the middle school in my neighborhood. My first day of work is August 9th and I am very excited. I told "The Child" that I am starting a new job soon and showed her where I would be working. I thought she would be excited but she started crying. She kept saying, "Mommy don't work there! The big kids are going to be mean to you!" I guess the big kids at her school are mean and that's why she kept telling me that. I finally got her to calm down and when she did she asked me if she could come visit sometimes. I thought that was cute.

Let's see... What else has happened? Oh yeah! I kept telling you guys about my sister-in-law her brood and how they were going to be moving out here. They finally came. They were able to look around and check out where they would be living before they actually move everything. According to the housing department on base they won't be able to move here until September because that is when another house should come available for them. So, let's keep our fingers crossed because I would really love for them to be out here!

Nothing much has been happening around here so I guess I am done. Write to you later! Bye!!

It's Been A While

I realize that I haven't been posting to my site. I have been so busy that I honestly just forgot.

Well, I have some good news to share. I recently spoke to an old friend that I have been trying to find for a long time. If you read my blog you may remember me mentioning that I would have liked to get in touch with an old friend of mine while I was visiting "home". The other night while I was on the phone with my mother she received a phone call. She told me that she would call me on three way because somebody wanted to speak to me. So she called me on three-way and the person started talking to me and I got so excited. I knew who it was. We talked for about three hours. She got married two years ago and had a baby about 3 months ago. So now I can't wait to go back "home" so that I could go visit her and her family.

My Sister-in-Law and her husband will be out here on the 5th. I can't wait! I love the fact that I will finally have family close enough to visit whenever I want.

I have to go and get ready for a Bar-B-Que so I'll be back whenever something interesting happens. Hopefully I'll be able to tell you guys that I found a job.

He's Aching All Over

My husband finally told me how golfing went yesterday. When he finally got home he didn't share too much I had to pull it out of him after a few hours. He said he wasn't very good at golf. "Oh really?" I didn't say it I only thought it. He wants to go back but he said he thinks he hurt his wrist and his forearm was in pain also. He also said that he enjoyed himself and he would like to go again but he needs to practice teeing off. So now he wants to go to a driving range. I guess I'll have to see what I can do because he wants to get a set of clubs. Father's day and his birthday are coming up really soon so maybe I can find something for him. I don't know what I could get seeming as though I still don't have a job but I'll see. Maybe I can find a set of clubs in July and say that it is a late gift. Hopefully I'll have a job by then. Well I gotta go I am about to go do some reading and try a little writing today. I'll be back soon.

They Are on Their Way!!!!

My Sister-In-Law and her brood are getting on the plane tomorrow to come back to the states. They arrive on the 14th and will be visiting family in Louisiana before they make the trek to "good ole" Arizona. (That was supposed to be sarcasm) I have gotten a few things for her to help with getting the kids registered for school and "The Husband" and I have looked through a few rental listings for them also. So hopefully the transition will go smoothly.

As for us, we have become the lazy family. We just sit around play games, watch TV, eat, and sleep. Well, "The Husband" does work. I am still looking. I'll get something sooner or later. Anyway, "The Husband" got invited to go golfing this morning. I thought that was pretty funny because he has never golfed a day in his life. He is so open to new things so he would try just about any sport. When I got up this morning I got on the internet because I wanted to find out what he should wear. Come to find out he was way ahead of me. He was already checking out sites on golf. I swear that man researches everything. So about an hour later he is running out the door in shorts, a T-shirt, and tennis yelling, "I'm gonna win! I'm gonna beat all of them!" I just start laughing and remind him that he has never golfed before. He obviously doesn't see that as a setback. Well, good for him. He has all the confidence he needs to go out there set up to tee off and swing and miss. That would be funny. OK let me stop being hard on him. I have faith in my husband! Good Luck Baby!!!!!!

I'll have to come back and let you know how his morning went.

Finally someone with sense...

I decided to call Cingular back to complain about sending my phone to Motorola. I explained to them that if I sent my phone to Motorola then I would be out of a cell phone for a while. The lady put me on hold and read all the notes in the system from each time that I called and tried to figure something out for me. When she got back I told her that I was to the point that I would accept the downgrade. She then asked me if the people explained to me that if I accepted the downgrade I would not be able to upgrade again unless I bought a new phone or waited for my time to come up for an upgrade. I told her that nobody explained that to me and that it was a little messed up for them to offer a downgrade anyway. So, finally the lady told me that since I have had so much trouble with all the phones that have been sent out she would try to get authorization to get me a free upgrade. Guess what, she succeeded. So they gave me a free upgrade and they are express shipping it (over night) free of charge!

Oh Yeah, I forgot to tell you that the lady that helped me out so good had the same name as me. It wasn't spelled the same but who cares. We Kellie's are great people. HA! HA! HA!

Down With Cingular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the past two weeks I have been going back and forth with cingular over the replacement phones that they have sent me. One day my original phone just decided to stop telling the correct time. The time that it was pulling from the network was 3 hours off of the correct time and the date was a week off. So I called them to see if they could fix it. They couldn't so they sent me a replacement phone. Well, that didn't work either. The replacement phone wouldn't even pull up the time I had to manually put it in myself. I know I sound anal but if the original phone pulled the time from the network then my replacement phone should too. Isn't that what I pay for?????? Well, here I am on the third replacement phone and it still doesn't work. And guess what? They asked me if I wanted them to send me a downgrade. UHHHH Let's see... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Send me a damn phone that works!!!!!!!!!! No, I didn't tell them that; but, I sure did want to! I was trying so hard to hold my tongue. The lady that I was talking to transferred me to her supervisor and he did some type of conference call with technical support. Guess what, they couldn't help either! So then the man transfers me to Motorola and tells me that they have to update the software! So now I am talking to some man that I could barely understand at Motorola that is telling me to ship my phone to them so that I could get the software updated. WHAT??? So I just got real upset and had to get off the phone.

So, these are my options:
take a downgrade or ship my phone to Motorola so that they can upgrade the software. Lord knows how long that would take.

The Countdown Is On!!!!!

It's official my sister-in-law is definitely coming!!!!!

I am so excited! And no I am not just saying this because she might read my site (which she does), but I really like my in-laws. I have been blessed to have such loving people placed in my life.

Anyway, she commented on one of my posts and said that they are definitely coming. First of all I was happy to see that somebody other than my faithful reader, Jaws, commented, then I was excited about the good news. So now my countdown is officially on. I don't know exactly when they will get out here because they are going back "home" to visit family first.

Oh yeah, I never went on that link rampage but as you can see I did make use of a link in this post. Talk to you later!!!!!

I Feel like a Dumby!!!!!!

My husband showed me how to insert a link. And then when we came to the site to practice inserting links he looked and said, "Look you can use this right here." I never even noticed the button to insert links. So I think I am about to go on a link rampage. So excuse me for a little while until I get bored with links!

Oh My God!!!!

Why do people let this show make fools of them. This girl just came on American Idol and butchered the National Anthem. She knows they showed her as one of the horrible singers. One of the humorous parts of the earlier shows. So why on earth would she agree to get up there and sing. I am actually upset that she did that.

Oh yeah, now that I am further into this show and I am listening to this sucky duet with Bo and Carrie. I really don't care who the hell wins.

Alrighty then. I might be back.

Why is Burt Reynolds Boss Hog????

I am sitting here watching American Idol and I see a commercial for The Dukes of hazard. They go through the cast and I see that they picked Burt Reynolds as Boss Hog. Who on earth made that choice. Anybody that has ever watched even one episode of The Dukes of Hazard would know that he is not the person to play that part. What happened to Danny DeVito???? He would have been perfect. In my eyes he would have been the perfect Boss Hog!!!!

Well, let me go. I am gonna go finish watching American Idol. I actually hope Bo wins!!!!!!!
